“2012 Walking around Kunming Lake for International Friends was held on Oct. 27 at the Kunming Lake of the Summer Palace. The event is jointly organized by Beijing People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, Foreign Affairs Office of Beijing Municipal People’s Government, Information Office of Beijing Municipal People’s and other 6 organizations. It is undertaken by Beijing Friendship Corporate Club and Administration of the Summer Palace. With “Beauty of Life, Spirit of Beijing” as the theme, the activity focused on exercising and recreational elements in Walking. More than 800 foreigners from over 70 countries attended this activity.

Twenty overseas students of our college from Korea, Vietnam, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Indonesia, Kyrgyz, Kazakhstan and Tajikistan took part in this activity. With Wenchangyuan as the start and end place, all of our students accomplished the entire journey of 8 kilometers. They displayed fully their energy and style in the activity. BEKNAZAR EMILZHANOV, a student from Kyrgyz Republic won the second place and another 6 students also did quite well in the walking.

After walking, overseas students from our school expressed their feelings. They thought this kind of activity a very meaningful way to keep fit, establish friendship and experience beauty of nature. Some students also expressed their willingness to take part in the following photography competition.
